Niagara Health Receives Clinical Research Funding

Organization received over $300,000 to support a new Clinical Trials Research Coordinator role

Niagara Health has received a major grant towards new clinical research trials.

The organization has received over $300,000 from the Accelerating Clinical Trials Canada Consortium.

Niagara Health beat out over 60 other hospitals in Canada to receive the funds.

The money will supply three years of funding for a Clinical Trials Research Coordinator.

It will also help cover the costs of new clinical trials in neurology and hematology/transfusion medicine.

"We'll be able to add more clinical trial programs in Niagara that will benefit more local patients," says Dr. Jennifer Ly Tsang, Niagara Health Knowledge Institute Executive Director and Chief Scientist. "This will allow us to deliver better access to a variety of clinical trials without the need for those patients to travel to Hamilton or Toronto."
