Catholic School Planned for Niagara Falls

Provincial government spending $14-million

Another Catholic elementary school is to be built in Niagara Falls.

The Ontario government is investing $14-million for the Niagara Catholic District School board, putting the school at the corner of Kalar and McLeod Roads.

This will create 363 more spaces.

Education Minister Stephen Lecce says this is part of an overall investment of $1.3-billion provincially, the highest ever in a single year, creating 27,000 spaces, and 1,700 child care spaces.

Danny Di Lorenzo is the chair of the Niagara Catholic board, and says the new school will help ease enrollment pressures as the city grows.
