Border agents found over $2.5-million in marijuana in truck attempting to cross into Buffalo

A 22-year old truck driver from Scarborough has been charged after a massive drug bust at the Peace Bridge.

The Standard is reporting the driver was attempting to cross into Buffalo on July 27th, with a load of waffles bound for Georgia.

When border agents checked the load with the shipper, they found the load was fraudulent.

They searched the trailer, and police say they found more than $2.5-million worth of marijuana.

The driver has also been linked to other fraudulent shipments.

Conviction brings a minimum 5-years in jail and up to $5-million fine.
