More people found jobs than economists expected
Update 9:30, Friday morning:
Some better news on Canada's employment figures than economists anticipated.
10,000 people found jobs in November, double what was expected.
Statistics Canada reports the unemployment rate fell from 5.2 per cent in October to 5.1 per cent.
The employment rate among core-aged women hit a record high of 81.6 per cent in November.
Meanwhile, still waiting on a report concerning corporate profits.
It'll come from the Centre for Future Work, examining profits for 52 business sectors, tracked by Statistics Canada.
It found that the bulk of the growth has been concentrated in a small number of sectors where consumer prices have also risen the fastest.
The report also found that just under a third of these sectors were responsible for driving overall corporate profits up.
