Weather Advisory Continues for Niagara

Snow and ice pellets in the forecast for this evening

A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Niagara.

Environment Canada says the area will get snow and ice pellets this evening.

Snow fall rates could be about 2 to 4 centimetres an hour at times, with total amounts around 10 cm.

The weather office says there could be freezing rain tonight, as well as winds around 70 km/h.

The snow will change to light rain or drizzle around midnight.

Drivers are advised to be prepared for hazardous conditions.

Meanwhile, Buffalo is under a special weather statement.

The National Weather Service says about 1 to 2 inches of snow can be expected by early this evening.
