Niagara College's Class of 2021 has kicked off Convocation Week with the help of a well-known Canadian musician.
Guest speaker Sarah Blackwood from the Juno Award winning band Walk off the Earth spoke to new graduates from the schools of Business and Management, and Hospitality, Tourism and Sport.
Blackwood, who received an honourary diploma in Media Studies, delivered an inspiring speech during the virtual ceremony, telling students that life constantly changes.
"There’s no big light at the end of the tunnel - it’s ever-changing. And the first thing I suggest for all of you is to get comfortable with uncertainty and get excited about not knowing exactly where you go from here. Get comfy living with a giant question mark over your head at all times."
After her speech, Blackwood sang to the students and played her acoustic guitar.
The graduating class will also receive an exclusive video performance of Walk off the Earth performing the song "Farther We Go."
