Man Charged After Violent Break-in

Police say Atlas the dog found suspect

Update 4pm:

A 28-year old Etobicoke man is facing a number of charges after what police are calling a violent break and enter at a Grimsby home.

Niagara Regional police were called overnight to a home in the area of Main and Robinson Streets, to find a man with serious injuries.

They believe he received the injuries from a blunt object, and was taken to hospital.

Police learned a number of suspects broke into the house, assaulted the victim, who was able to eventually free himself and get help.

Officers brought in their service dog, Atlas, which tracked down one of the suspects near Sandra Crescent.  Police say Nicholas Gerard St. Louis is charged with break and enter to commit robbery, forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

He has a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.

Police also say they believe this was a targeted attack, and therefore no danger to the public.  If you know anything about this case, call police.
