UPDATE: Man Found With Mysterious Injuries Dies

A 31-year-old man was found with serious injuries in St. Catharines has died.

UPDATE - September 9th

Police say a man who was found with serious injuries in St. Catharines has died in hospital. 

Raymond "Ray Riley, 31, was found in medical distress around 1:30 AM on August 27th near Queenston and Riordan Streets. 

He was transported by hospital by Niagara EMS.

On September 1st, officers received a call from a family member to report he had been hospitalized with injuries considered to be suspicious. 

Police claim there are two suspects, and investigators are urging them to seek legal council and turn themselves in to police. 

Anyone who may recall seeing Ray that night or who has information is asked to contact the NRP Homicide Unit at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009134.

No information on the suspects has been released. 

 

Original Story - September 8th

Raymond "Ray" Riley, who remains in hospital in critical condition, was found in medical distress on  August 27th at 1:30 a.m. in the area of Queenston and Riordon Streets and taken to hospital.

His family later reported to police that his injuries were suspicious.

Detectives are trying to trace Riley's movements prior to being hurt, and to see if anyone has information on how he was injured.

Police believe he may have been walking along Queenston Street with an unknown woman prior to the ambulance call.

Anyone in the area with security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for suspicious activity for the period between 12:30 and 1:30 am on August 27th.

Riley is described as white, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, with brown medium length wavy hair, dark coloured facial hair, hazel eyes and tattoos on his left hand.

He was wearing black Nike shorts with a grey stripe and a black baseball hat with a Marvel Avengers logo at the time of the incident.
