Snowbirds will be happy to hear, the US side of the Canadian border will reopen to vaccinated Canadians early next month.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security says the re-opening will happen in two phases.

Starting next month, Canadian and Mexican travelers who have proof of receiving both COVID-19 shots can enter U.S. entry ports for non-essential travel.

The agency also says as of January, inbound foreign travelers must show documentation proving they are fully vaccinated against the virus.

Last night, the White House confirmed the news that double-dosed tourists from Canada and Mexico can cross the land border.

There is still no word on an exact date for the re-opening.

It's also unknown if travelers who received mixed doses will be allowed in.

The Biden administration is expected to release more details later today.
