U-Haul Driver Facing Charges After Striking Tow Truck, Police Car

Collisions result in over $25,000 worth of damage.

A U-Haul driver is facing charges following an incident in St. Catharines. 

Niagara police say around 12:15 this morning, officers attempted to stop a U-Haul after it collided with a parked tow truck and fled. 

Despite flashing lights and activating sirens, police weren't able to stop the truck right away. 

The vehicle left the road and caused more than $20,000 worth of damage to private property before intentionally hitting a police cruiser. 

The suspect vehicle became inoperable, and the driver was arrested. 

No one was injured, and there was about $5,000 in damage done to the police car. 

Facing charges is 41 year old Sean Gummerson of Chelmsford, Ontario.
