Two St. Catharines Teens Charged in Stabbing, Armed Car Theft

Two teens arrested for pair of incidents

Two teenagers from St. Catharines are facing charges in connection to an armed car theft and a stabbing. 

Police say the investigation into the car theft started last month, when a victim was sitting inside a Nissan Rogue in a parking lot near Welland Avenue and Bunting Road. 

The victim was approached by a male with a firearm who demanded the car. 

The suspect fled and picked up a second suspect a short distance away. 

The car was recovered abandoned not long after the incident, and the victim wasn't injured. 

On August 17th, police kicked off an investigation into a stabbing that occurred at Pearson Park on Niagara Street in St. Catharines. 

A man was stabbed and suffered serious injuries. 

Officers say in this instance, the victim and the suspects knew each other. 

The victim has been released from hospital. 

On August 19th, two male teenagers were arrested in connection to both incidents. 

A 17 year old and a 16 year old face numerous charges. 

The pair cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
