Trump Impeached a Second Time

US President Donald Trump has become the first President to be impeached twice.

The House met today and voted to impeach him on grounds of "incitement of insurrection."

The motion was supported by ten members of the Republican party.

This news comes one week after Trump supporters stormed the Capitol.

Federal troops were stationed at the Capitol building due to more threats during the vote, and these measures will remain in place until President-Elect Joe Biden's inauguration one week from today.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says that the Senate trial won't begin before Biden's inauguration.

Since it takes a Senate conviction to remove a President from office, Trump will remain in power and likely finish out his term.
