Trudeau Heading to Europe For Ukraine Talks

PM says he will attend meetings next week in several cities, including London and Berlin, to discuss Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will spend some time in Europe next week as Russia's invasion of Ukraine continues.

Trudeau says he will meet with partners and allies in the U.K., Germany, Poland and Latvia to discuss efforts to support Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly was in Brussels earlier today to meet with counterparts at NATO's headquarters, which was followed by a G7 foreign ministers' meeting.

The ministers discussed Russia's overnight attack on Ukraine's largest nuclear power plant.

The attack prompted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to once again call for a no-fly zone over his country.

When asked for Canada's position on the no-fly zone, Trudeau said this would put NATO in direct conflict with Russian soldiers and would only escalate matters.
