Town of Pelham Receives $100,000 Grant for EV Charging Stations

The charging stations will be at the Meridian Community Centre

The Town of Pelham is looking to make life a little easier for people who drive electric vehicles.

The Town has received a $100,000 grant from Pollution Probe's CHARGED program.

The money will be used towards two new electric vehicle charging stations at the Meridian Community Centre,

The chargers will be available year round, and will be located on the south side of the building.

Up to four vehicles can be charged at a time.

"This funding will allow the Town to install fast charging stations at the Meridian Community Centre that will expand the availability of publically accessible EV chargers in Pelham," explained Town of Pelham CAO David Cribbs. "Town of Pelham council established environmental and climate adaptation as a priority within the current strategic plan, and once installed, the EV chargers will align with the goal of focusing on action items that continue to put Pelham in a position to be a strong steward of the environment."
