PSW Connie Topolinsky is running for mayor of Niagara Falls for second time.

A local PSW is running for mayor of Niagara Falls.

Connie Topolinsky is running for mayor after coming in second place in the 2014 mayoral race.

She says residents are telling her they want to see change.

One area in which she hopes to bring some positive change is affordable housing.

"I'd like to eliminate the down payment," she says. "You can go into a car lot, and buy a brand new car with nothing down. I'm just wondering why we have to pay a down payment for a home where if you don't pay your mortgage, you get evicted."

She also says if elected, she wants to bring back the ward system.

"I think it's very important to have each council individually located, so if somebody in the area has a concern, they know who to call, instead of calling the city and getting nowhere."

Topolinsky will be having a meet and greet event Sunday, October 16th at the Niagara Falls Lions Club between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Our newsroom has reached out to all Niagara Falls mayoral candidates and will feature more candidate profiles ahead of the October 24th election.
