Thirteen Charged For Impaired Driving in Niagara

Niagara Regional Police release latest impaired driving stats.

Thirteen people are facing impaired driving charges following R.I.D.E. checks in Niagara. 

Police say between February 28th and March 6th, five people from St. Catharines, three people each from Welland and Niagara Falls, and one person each from Fort Erie and Lincoln were arrested. 

The offenders were charged with impaired driving by drugs or alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, or refusing to provide a breath or blood sample. 

Each person also received a 90 day license suspension. 

Anyone who spots a suspected impaired driver is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or the Niagara Regional Police Service Traffic Safety Hotline at 905-688-4111.
