The annual Terry Fox Run is taking place in Niagara Falls this Sunday

The annual Terry Fox run is about to return to Niagara Falls.

On Sunday, the 5K run will start at 9:30 at the Gale centre.

You can run, walk, or bike to help cancer research.

We spoke with run coordinator Joshua Lennox, who spoke about Terry's legacy.

"Terry's legacy obviously goes a long way. He is exactly what we think of when we think of Canadiana...Just to think, an 18 year old boy who has cancer has this thought like 'I'm going to run across Canada'...It was just a phenomenal feat."

Lennox adds you might notice some "Terry's Team" members in red shirts in the crowd, which have special importance.

"Those are the people who have gone through some kind of cancer treatment, and it's great to see that every year."

In 1980, Terry Fox ran in Niagara Falls as part of the Marathon of Hope, and his brother Fred Fox recently received the key to the City.

Lennox says to date, over $1.4 million has been raised in Niagara Falls alone for the Terry Fox Foundation.

If you want to help the cause but can't attend in person, donations can be made online.
