St. Paddy's Day Parties Won't be Tolerated

That message from Niagara officials

St. Catharines Mayor says there will be zero tolerance for any large St Patrick's Day parties this year.

Walter Sendzik reminding students in particular, it is not time to party given the pandemic.

Meantime, Brock University sending out a reminder to students this is not the year they should test their luck around the day.

Brock officials noting, with strict COVID-19 regulations in place in Niagara and across the province, municipal by-law officers, Police and Brock Campus Security will be keeping a close eye on things leading up to and on St. Paddy's Day.

Brock is hiring additional uniformed NRP officers to assist with neighbourhood patrols on March 17th and the days leading up to it.

The NRP and city bylaw officers are taking a zero-tolerance approach and will be issuing fines and tickets as required.

Fines can range from $750 for attending an unlawful gathering up to $10,000 for hosting one.
