St. Catharines Armed Robbery Suspect Charged

North York man charged following gun point robbery in St. Catharines.

An arrest has been made in connection to a St. Catharines armed robbery.

Investigators say on December 28th, police were called to a home  near Ernest Street and Dorothy Street.

A man was leaving his home to go to work, when he was approached by another man holding a gun, who demanded the keys to his 2006 Land Rover.

Detectives say the vehicle was located on January 3rd in Toronto, and further investigation identified the suspect in a video seen holding a handgun.

Police learned the suspect was already in custody in a Toronto area detention centre on unrelated charges.

The Glock handgun used in the robbery has been recovered.

During a court appearance earlier today, Niagara Regional Police charged 22 year old Anthony Dass of North York in connection to the incident.

He faces numerous charges, including Break and Enter, and remains in custody.
