Some Ontario Health Units Announce Return to Stricter COVID Measures

Kingston announcing gathering limits

With more cases of the fast spreading Omicron variant being reported, several Ontario public health units announcing measures to try to slow the spread. 

The province reported over 1,500 new COVID-19 infections yesterday and its science advisory table now estimates that Omicron makes up about 30 per cent of the daily caseload.

The most restrictive measures are in Kingston, where the city's Medical Officer of Health has announced social gatherings are now limited to no more than five people both indoor and out.

As well, restaurants must close at 10 pm and stop serving booze at 9 pm, with no more than four customers per table 

Toronto, London and Waterloo health officials also asking people to work from home.
