Science Table Releases New Fourth Wave COVID Modelling

Head of table believes vaccine passports may help us avoid worst case scenario

Shortly after Doug Ford announced the vaccine passport system that will kick in later this month, the province's Science Advisory Table quietly posted modelling for the virus, which shows cases could number in the thousands in a worse case scenario

The modelling which is the first to be released since June debuted with no fanfare or explanation.

It finds daily case counts could top 9,000 by October 1st as students return to classes and more workers head back to the office

The best case scenario is daily counts could begin dipping immediately and drop to under 500 by next month.

The head of the Science Table Dr. Peter Juni says as long as we reduce contact with others by about 30 percent of pre pandemic levels we should avoid the worst case scenario

Juni believes the introduction of the vaccine passport will impact vaccination rates and help decrease transmission.
