Repairs to Fort Erie Will Cost Upwards of One Million

The damage along the shoreline is extensive and will be costly to repair. The storm that shook Niagara Thursday night into Friday sent waves crashing onto the friendship trail.

Fort Erie Town officials say they are going to do everything in their power to restore the damaged areas however they estimate the Waverly area alone will cost upwards of one million dollars.
Environment Canada meteorologist Gerald Chang says the strongest winds recorded in Port Colborne reached 129 kilometers per hour.
Fort Erie Mayor Wayne Redekop says they will look for opportunities to solicit funds from upper levels of government to help in the recovery process.
