Province Investing in Niagara Infrastructure

The provincial government has announced a $9.6 million investment to address community infrastructure needs in Niagara.

Through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund, the province is supporting municipalities with water and wastewater infrastructure, and the building and repairing of roads and bridges.

Eleven municipalities within Niagara will be receiving funds, including Fort Erie, Niagara Falls, Welland and Grimsby.

The funding is part of the province's $200 million commitment to address core infrastructure projects in 424 communities in the province.

Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff says the money will help make the region a better place to live.

"Our government is committed to supporting our local municipalities by creating jobs, attracting economic growth and investment, and making our communities the best place to live and grow. This funding will help build and repair roads, bridges, water and wastewater infrastructure in our community."
