Close to $2.3-million to help Niagara area children get better access to rehabilitative services
Almost $2.3-million in provincial money to be spent in Niagara to help children have better access to pediatric services.
Niagara Children's Centre will receive $1.79-million, and Niagara Health gets $500,000.
The province says the money will give better access to rehabilitation services, such as speech-language pathology, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy at the Children's Centre.
An expansion of services at St. Catharines site of Niagara Health means less people going to the emergency departments.
Minister of Children, Community and Social Services Michael Parsa adds the money will reduce wait lists, provide early intervention and mean quicker recovery.
