Province Approves New Local High School

The DSBN has been given the go-ahead for the construction of West Niagara Secondary School.

The province is investing $42.5 million into the facility. 

The school will be located in Beamsville, and will be open to students in Beamsville, South Lincoln and Grimsby. 

Education Minister Stephen Lecce was on hand for the announcement. 

 "Our support for the new West Niagara Secondary School further demonstrates our government’s historic investment in Ontario’s schools and our overall commitment to supporting our students and families."

The school will have 1533 classrooms, a greenhouse and specialty program for students enrolled in the Agricultural Specialist High Skills Major Program. 

There will also be an interior and exterior classroom for the greenhouse. 

West Niagara Secondary School will be located at 5699 King Street and 4640 Durham Road, Beamsville.
