Premier Makes Cabinet Changes Ahead of Election

Premier Doug Ford has made some changes to his cabinet ahead of next year's election.

He's replaced long-term care minister Merrilee Fullerton with former Finance Minister Rod Phillips.

Phillips made headlines in December for resigning after travelling to St. Barts while the province was advised to remain at home.

Fullerton has been named the minister of Children, Community and Social Services.

Other changes being made include naming Kinga Surma as minister of infrastructure and David Piccini replacing Jeff Yurek as minister of environment.

Major pandemic players such as Health Minister Christine Elliott, Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy, Solicitor General Sylvia Jones and Education Minister Stephen Lecce will stay on in their current capacities.
