Victim sustains minor injuries
Police have made an arrest in connection to a sexual assault in Port Colborne.
The incident occurred around 2:06 p.m. yesterday on West Street near Clarence Street.
Investigators say a woman was walking in the area when she spotted a black vehicle driving along West Street in a manner she perceived to be suspicious.
Shortly thereafter, she was approached from behind by a male suspect and a sexual assault occurred.
The victim sustained minor injuries that didn't require hospitalization.
After the assault, the suspect fled the area, and the victim received help from bystanders, who took a picture of the man's car, a 2014 Ford Focus.
Detectives found the suspect about two hours later and made an arrest.
21 year old Lachlan Glass of Port Colborne has been charged with sexual assault.
He remains in custody, and will appear in court later today.
Police believe this was an isolated incident, and there is no known or ongoing threat to public safety.
