Police Seize 70 kg of Cocaine at Peace Bridge Border Crossing

Three duffle bags full of cocaine found at Fort Erie border crossing

A Brampton man is facing charges after police found three duffle bags full of cocaine at the Peace Bridge border crossing. 

On March 14th, border services officers searched a commercial truck entering Canada. 

During the inspection, three duffle bags containing bricks of cocaine were found.

According to the RCMP, the bags weighed about 70 kg. 

Canada Border Services Agency officers arrested the driver, and  the RCMP Niagara on the Lake Border Integrity took over the arrest. 

Facing charges is 26 year old Gursimran Singh. 

He's been charged with Importation of cocaine - contrary to Section 6(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

He was released on conditions, and is due back in court on May 4th. 

The CBSA and the RCMP are working together as the investigation continues
