Police Seeking Witness in Stabbing Case

Police are looking for a witness in an attempted murder case

Police continue to investigate after a woman was stabbed in Grimsby a couple of weeks ago.

On May 13th, a fight took place between two men at a home near Central Avenue and Lynnwood Avenue.

Police say one of the men involved was the suspect, and the other was a Good Samaritan who tried to help the woman after she was stabbed.

Seventy year old Allan Timko of Beamsville has been charged with attempted murder.

The woman was hospitalized with serious injuries, and is now recovering at home.

Police are asking for help locating a witness.

Investigators say the suspect may have been picked up hitchhiking on King Street near Thirty Road around 9:30 that morning.

It's believed he was taken to the area of Main Street East and Baker Road North in a van or SUV.

Police want to speak to the driver, who is described as a white man between 65 and 70 years old.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009023.
