Police Make Arrests in Violent Bar Assault

Four people charged after man beaten in St. Catharines in October

Four people have been arrested following a violent attack in a bar in St. Catharines.

Police say they were called October 11th, to meet a man who had suffered serious injuries earlier that morning.

The man in his 40s was talking to a man and woman at Canucks Ale House, when suddenly the man punched the victim in the face.

Police add two other men joined the assault, which led to the victim falling to the floor.  He was further punched, kicked, and had a bar stool thrown at him.  After he lost consciousness, the attack continued, but the suspects eventually took off.

Furthermore, police say a woman then took the unconscious man's wallet, and stole about $300.

The victim is recovering at home.

Police say 37-year old Christopher William Redmond, of St. Catharines, was arrested last Saturday, and charged with assault and failure to comply with a release order.  He remained in police custody, and had a bail hearing yesterday.

On Christmas Eve, 31-year old Taylor Timothy Roy Cronkwright, of St. Catharines, and 29-year old Brooklyn Kyle Mayer, also of St. Catharines, turned themselves in to police in Niagara Falls, and were charged with assault.  Both had bail hearings that day, and were released with future court dates.

Then on Boxing Day, police say 29-year old Shevon Tamara Sadler, of St. Catharines, was arrested for theft, and soon after released with a future court date.

Police are asking anyone who might have information concerning this assault to give them a call.
