Police Looking to Identify St. Catharines Sexual Assault Suspect

Female victim reports sexual assault after meeting a man on social media.

The NRP is asking for the public's help to identify a sexual assault suspect. 

On March 15th, officers were called to a local hospital in regards to a sexual assault case. 

Police say a female victim reported the assault after meeting a man on a social media networking application. 

The man was invited into her room, located at the DeCew Residence at Brock University in St. Catharines. 

The victim told police a sexual assault took place inside the room. 

The female was not injured. 

The suspect is described as follows: 

  • Male
  • South Asian
  • 5’10" tall
  • 170lbs.
  • Black hair
  • Blue hooded sweatshirt
  • Grey track pants
  • White shoes

The suspect is believed to have left the scene in a dark coloured four-door BMW. 

Detectives say the suspect's name or nickname may be "Zain", and he may live in the GTA. 

Police believe this was an isolated incident and there is no known threat to public safety. 

The NRPS Sexual Assault Unit and Brock University have worked to provide support services to the victim during the investigation.
