Update: Man Arrested After St. Catharines Murder

Update - June 15th: the female victim has died of her injuries in hospital

UPDATE: 

Police say the 40 year old female victim has died in hospital. 

Her identity, as well as the identity of the 56 year old male victim, will not be released. 

Due to her death, 46 year old Donovan Williams of Brampton is now facing two counts of first degree murder, as well as failure to comply with an undertaking. 

He remains in custody, and will answer to the new charge in court tomorrow.

Niagara Regional police say a 46-year old man from Brampton has been arrested in connection to a weekend homicide in St. Catharines.

Donovan Williams has been charged with 1st degree murder, attempted murder, and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Police add he's being held in custody pending a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.

The woman who was shot remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A warning from Niagara Regional police to watch for a suspect wanted in connection to a weekend murder in St. Catharines.

They were called Saturday night to a St. Paul Street west area, to find a man and woman who both had been shot.

Police say the man died at the scene, while the woman is in hospital in critical but stable condition.

Early information obtained by police indicate this was a targeted shooting, and they say there's no immediate risk to the public.

But, they add the unidentified suspect remains at large, and is considered armed and dangerous.
