Two people hospitalized, one with injuries believed to be life-threatening.
A serious collision in Fort Erie has sent two people to hospital.
Just before 3:30 yesterday afternoon, police were called to the area of Bowen Road and Pettit Road, after a Chevrolet Cruze and a transport truck collided.
The car had two people in it and was forced from the roadway.
The pair were extricated by Fort Erie Fire Services.
The driver, a 78 year old woman, suffered injuries believed to be life threatening, and an 81 year old male passenger suffered serious injuries.
They were taken to a local hospital before being transported out of the region for further treatment.
The 53 year old transport truck driver wasn't hurt.
The QEW on and off ramps at Bowen Road were closed for several hours, but re-opened just after midnight.
The Chevrolet was demolished, and damage to the Freightliner transport truck is estimated at about $6,000.
