Police have charged a 41-year old driver from Newmarket after the collision in St. Catharines

Good news from Niagara Regional police in that the condition of a man in his 70s hit by a car in St. Catharines has been upgraded.
He was sent to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police add a 41-year old driver from Newmarket has been charged with not making a safe turn.

A man is in hospital after being hit by a car in St. Catharines.
The incident occurred around 8:11 this morning at the intersection of Glenridge Avenue and Glen Morris Drive.
Details are limited, but police say a man in his 70s has been taken to an out of region hospital in critical condition.
His injuries are believed to be life threatening.
The intersection is expected to remain closed for several more hours, as police investigate.
The incident has created traffic disruptions affection the two high schools in the immediate area, and drivers are asked to find alternate routes.
It is not known what caused the crash, and more information will be released as more details have been determined.
