UPDATE: One Killed After Crash in St. Catharines

Roads have re-opened after a deadly crash in St. Catharines this morning

Police are investigating a crash in St. Catharines that left one person dead and sent another to hospital with minor injuries. 

Around 7:45 this morning, emergency crews were called to the area of Third Street Louth and Fifth Avenue Louth. 

Investigators say a Toyota Camry was stopped, and then entered the pathway of an oncoming Dodge Ram pickup truck that was towing a trailer. 

The Camry driver, an 86 year old woman from St. Catharines, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Meanwhile, the Dodge driver, a man in his 80s, suffered minor injuries.

For several hours, Third Street Louth was closed between Fourth Avenue and St. Paul Street West, and Fifth Avenue Louth is closed between First Street Louth and Fifth Street. 

The roads have since re-opened. 

Police say no charges have been laid. 

The trailer was taken to the Vineland Weigh Station, and crews cleaned up oil contaminant after the crash.
