Police Continue to Investigate Attempted Murder

Police are asking witnesses to come forward

Niagara Regional Police are asking the public for help as they continue to investigate an attempted murder. 

Around 12:47 p.m. on Saturday, May 13th, police received a call about a fight at a home near Central Avenue and Lynnwood Avenue in Grimsby. 

When officers arrived, they found a 41 year old woman with a serious stab wound

Police say a fight took place between the suspect and a Good Samaritan who tried to help the victim. 

According to investigators, the suspect and the victim knew  each other. 

Seventy year old Allan Timko of Beamsville was arrested and charged with attempted murder. 

Earlier today, he appeared in court and an aggravated assault charge was added. 

Police say the victim is in stable condition and continues to recover.

Detectives are asking for help to find out how Timko traveled to the location of the attack and who he might have been with. 

Officers have learned that around 7:30 a.m. on May 13th, he was at a residence on Lincoln Street just south of King Street in Lincoln. 

Investigators say the accused was seen on foot near the site at 9:40 a.m. that morning. 

At the time of the attack the accused could be described as:

  • White male
  • 70 years old
  • White / grey hair
  • Glasses

Wearing:

  • Black ¾ length jacket
  • Blue jeans
  • Carrying a large green backpack.

Nearby residents and businesses with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review footage taken between 7:40 a.m. and 9:40 a.m. on May 13th.
