Police Continue Hunt for Fort Erie Shooting Suspect

Suspect wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Niagara Regional Police continue the hunt for a suspect wanted in connection to a Fort Erie shooting. 

Around 10:51 a.m. on October 25th, officers were called to a home on Village Creek Drive between Old Mill Road and Ott Road. 

A man suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and investigators say he continues to recover.

The suspect, 30-year-old Aynla Mustafa Hassan was on federal parole at the time. 

His parole has been revoked, and a Canada-wide arrest warrant is in place for failing to comply with his statutory release. 

Hassan is wanted for the following offences: 

  • Attempt to commit murder using a restricted or prohibited firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon
  • Use of a firearm during the commission of an offence
  • Careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Aggravated assault
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Fail to comply with release order

HASSAN is described as follows:

  • Male
  • Black
  • 5’8" tall
  • 190 lbs
  • Dark hair in braids

The vehicle HASSAN is believed to be driving is as follows:

  • 2008 Chevrolet Malibu
  • Ontario Registration #CWXJ 443
  • Brown in colour
  • 4 doors

Hassan is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. 

Police say he has ties to the Greater Toronto area but could be anywhere. 

Anyone who knows where he or his vehicle may be is advised to call 911 immediately.
