Police Close 3 Illegally Run Cannabis Stores

Over $230,000 in product seized in the Niagara region, 3 people arrested

Three stores in the Niagara region have been shut down for illegally selling cannabis and related products.

Using warrants last week, police searched the stores in Thorold, Welland and Fort Erie, and found they were not authorized by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to sell.

Police found over $230,000 worth of product.

  • 91.5 kilograms of dried cannabis
  • 695 pre-rolled cannabis cigarettes
  • 720 grams of cannabis extract
  • 2,065 packages of cannabis edibles
  • 915 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) vape pens
  • two kilograms of hashish
  • 173,800 tobacco cigarettes
  • 420 tobacco cigars
  • cell phones, computers and other electronics
  • $4,700 in Canadian currency

They charged a 26-year old Niagara Falls man, a 28-year old from Thorold, and a 38-year old man from Burford.

They were released from custody and have April court appearances.
