PM Holds Late Night Cabinet Meeting

Will meet with Premiers today to discuss ending Freedom Convoy protests

After a late night cabinet meeting the Prime Minister has called a First Ministers’ Meeting for this morning to discuss options to deal with the protests happening across the country, 

Pundits speculating whether the PM will invoke the Emergency Measures Act, which replaced the War Measures Act, to try and bring and end to the protests.

Police managed to break up the  protest on the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor that closed the span for about a week removing the final protestors at the site yesterday 

Ottawa's Mayor has given truckers encamped in the city’s core until noon today to move out of residential areas and park closer to Parliament in a bid to give residents a break from the noise.  

Some businesses have had to close and say they may not be able to reopen because of the financial hit. 

One of the protest organizaors tweeted out last night the trucks would leave residential areas today. 

Meantime, Fort Erie Mayor Wayne Redekop applauding the efforts of OPP, NRP and Niagara Parks as well as the Peace Bridge Authority for their "very, very effective" planning in preventing a weekend protest from impacting traffic on the Peace Bridge. 

Police closed a section of the QEW just before Gilmore Road in Fort Erie diverting all vehicles off the highway into the town to keep protestors off the bridge and allow commercial vehicles to keep on rolling
