Pathstone Receives Grant Funding for Video Counselling Program

Pathstone will be able to continue offer video counselling thanks to two new grants.

One is from TD and the other is from Canada's Emergency Community Support Fund and they're both for COVID-19 programming.

Director of Philanthropy Kim Rossi says they will cover half of the total cost of the program.

"This is not something that was in the cards for Pathstone for this year. It was a plan for a few years down the road but because of COVID we expedited it and needed to reach out to donors to fund it."

Rossi says there are a lot of benefits to the online platform.

"It's going to reduce the amount of cancellations. Sometimes transportation is unreliable and clients can make it to an appointment. We can quickly cancel the in-person and flip to video counselling to offer them a session."

Rossi adds clients will be able to decide if video counselling is right for them.

The program costs close to $200,000 total and it will be expanded to include walk-in clinics before the end of the month.
