Parks Police Charge Motorcyclists in Niagara Falls

Group accused of driving while under suspension, license plate infractions and more

A group of motorcyclists are facing several charges after a traffic stop in Niagara Falls. 

On Saturday, Niagara Parks Police stopped a large group of motorcycles travelling southbound on the Niagara River Parkway from Clifton Hill. 

Police say many of the bikes had license plate issues that violated the Highway Traffic Act. 

Two plates were seized, and four motorcycles were removed from the roadway for various offences. 

Group members were also charged with the following: 

  • Driving while under suspension - contrary to S.53(1) under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario (HTA)
  • Drive motor vehicle, no plates - 2 counts contrary to S.7(1)(b)(i) under the HTA
  • Obstruct plate - contrary to  S.13(2) under the HTA
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle - contrary to S.12(1)(d) under the HTA
  • Drive motor vehicle - No currently validated permit - contrary to S.7(1)(a) under the HTA
  • Driver fail to surrender license - contrary to S.33(1) under the HTA
  • Drive motor vehicle - improper license - contrary to S.32(1) under the HTA
  • Owner operate motor vehicle on a highway - no insurance - 2 counts - contrary to  S.2(1)(a) under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA)
  • Fail to surrender insurance card - contrary to S.3(1) under the CAIA
