The union representing Ontario's public high school teachers, has announced another one-day strike.
It's scheduled for Wednesday December 18th.
The Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation says it will affect 10 school boards this time around;
- Lakehead District School Board
- Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board
- Lambton Kent District School Board
- Thames Valley District School Board
- Waterloo Region District School Board
- Waterloo Catholic District School Board
- York Region District School Board
- York Catholic District School Board
- Halton District School Board
- Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board
The District School Board of Niagara did not make the list, so it should be a regular school day for students. But you can expect information pickets outside our local schools.
OSSTF President Harvey Bischof says there has been no progress in talks with the government, since the last day of bargaining on December 3rd.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce says compensation is a key issue at the table.
The union is asking for a roughly two-percent increase, but the government is only offering one-percent.
