OPP Reporting Deadly Year on the Roads So Far

Police say 150 people have been killed in crashes on OPP-patrolled roads so far this year

Ontario Provincial Police are urging drivers to be more cautious on the roads.

So far this year, the OPP has responded to 136 fatal collisions, in which 150 people were killed.

From June 1st to 11, the OPP were called to 15 deadly crashes, in which 18 people died.

During the same period last year, officers responded to four deadly collisions, which resulted in four fatalities.

Officers say many of the crashes are being caused by issues like speeding, careless driving, driver fatigue, impaired driving, and lack of a seatbelt.

The OPP is urging motorists to follow the law and to never take any risks.
