Ontario Votes One Week Today

Exactly one week to the Provincial Election

It's exactly one week to the Provincial Election.

N-D-P Leader Andrea Horwath is set to start her day in Brampton, where she will be talking about a plan to end hallway medicine.

PC Leader Doug Ford will not be making any announcements or taking any media questions today, and his only scheduled event is a rally in Horwath's home turf of Hamilton.

Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca is set to make an announcement in Richmond Hill, and Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner is spending the day in Guelph.

Yesterday, the major provincial party leaders offered up pledges to change Ontario's much-criticized autism program if they win next month's election.

Doug Ford,  says he will always support the autism community, but he also wants to look into additional supports for adults with autism.

N-D-P leader Andrea Horwath is pledging to boost funding for the program and ensure there are no funding caps, including those based on age.

The Liberals also say they would remove any age-based determinants from the program and implement a direct billing option, while working within the existing budget.

There are over 51,000 children on the waitlist for autism services in Ontario
