Ontario Integrity Commissioner Asked to Investigate Housing Minister's Chief of Staff

The province has asked the integrity commissioner to look into whether the Housing Minister's chief of staff violated the Public Service of Ontario Act

The Ford government has asked Ontario's integrity commissioner to investigate the housing minister's chief of staff in regards to plans to develop housing on the Greenbelt.

Yesterday, auditor general Bonnie Lysyk released a report that claimed Greenbelt land swaps were influenced by developers with connections to the Progressive Conservative party.

The commissioner has been asked to look into whether chief of staff Ryan Amato broke any ethics rules connected to the plans.

According to a spokesperson, the request is under review.

Amato has denied tipping off any developers about plans to open the Greenbelt.
