NRP Officer With Controversial Past Charged in Road Rage Incident

56 year old Nathan Parker charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.

A Niagara Regional Police officer who was shot in a dispute with a superior officer is in trouble once again.

On July 21st, the NRP responded to a suspected road rage incident in St. Catharines, where a male left his vehicle and struck the window of another car.

Investigators say nobody was injured due to the incident.

Police asked for help from Halton Regional Police after the suspect was identified as an off-duty police officer.

On August 17th, 56 year old Nathan Parker was arrested by the HRP and charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.

He's due in court on October 25th.

This isn't the first time Parker has been in hot water.

In November 2018, Parker was shot after a superior officer was assaulted.

He had been arrested and charged with assault in connection to the incident, but the charges were stayed after a two month trial in Hamilton.

During his career, Parker has faced complaints from residents claiming he was unnecessarily violent, which have led to four disciplinary hearings.

He is currently not attending his workplace, and is under suspension.
