Niagara Under Special Air Quality Statement

Individuals may experience increased coughing, throat irritation, or shortness of breath

A special air quality statement is in effect for Niagara.

Environment Canada says people may experience symptoms like increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches, or shortness of breath.

Children, seniors, and people with cardiovascular or lung disease are especially at risk when exposed to air pollution.

The weather office says if you experience symptoms, you may want to consider reducing or rescheduling strenuous outdoor activities until the statement is lifted.

Today's forecast calls for a high of 25 degrees, and a humidex of 26 degrees.
