The first incident occurred at a nightclub near Ontario Street and St. Paul Street early yesterday morning.

Around 1:22 a.m., a security guard noticed a customer with what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband.

The guard grabbed the weapon, and the suspect fled on foot.

Police found the man a short distance away and grabbed the gun, which had eleven rounds of ammunition.

Twenty-year-old Maxwell Ali Grant was arrested.

The second incident took place less than an hour later.

Around 2:09 a.m., police received word that the OPP had tried to stop a speeding car on the QEW near Victoria Avenue in Lincoln.

The car was later spotted near St. Paul Street West and Pelham Road in St. Catharines.

The vehicle was followed to a dead end on Kent Street near Hillview Road North.

A foot pursuit took place, and the driver was observed dropping what appeared to be a handgun.

Police arrested the driver and recovered the weapon, which had an extended maagazine and was loaded with 16 bullets.

Antonio Sedeno Charles, 35, of St. Catharines was arrested.

Charles and Grant have both been remanded into the custody of Ontario Correctional Services.
