The OHL says Niagara IceDogs players Joshua Rosenzweig and Landon Cato have been kicked out of the league due to Code of Conduct violations

Two Niagara IceDogs players are out of the OHL, and the team has received a hefty fine, after an investigation found players violating the OHL Code of Conduct.

An independent third party investigator was hired to look into allegations surrounding captain Landon Cato and goalie Joshua Rozenzweig, and conducted interviews with former players, coaches, staff and team officials over several months.

The OHL says the report confirms the pair violated the Code of Conduct, including but not limited to Physical Maltreatment and Aiding and Abetting, and the pair have been kicked out of the OHL permanently.

They also say Owner and General Manager Darren DeDobbelaer violated orders not to speak to others about the investigation.

He has been suspended as GM for the next two seasons.

Based on the findings of the investigation, the Commissioner of the League has also ordered the team to pay a $100,000 fine and forfeit their first selection in the OHL Priority Selection Draft.

"The protection of players on and off the ice is the paramount concern of the OHL" the league said in a statement. "Violations of the OHL Code of Conduct or the Maltreatment Policy, most importantly, puts player safety and experience at risk and impacts the reputation of our teams, league and of the sport of hockey.
