Niagara Health Leading Online Health and Information Initiative

Niagara Health is launching a digital identity service to help patients access health information and services online.

Four hospitals are participating in the Ontario trusted account, a service that allows patients to prove their identity virtually, just as they would in person using the health card or driver's license.

Niagara Health, Southlake Regional Health Centre, North York General Hospital and St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, as well as their technology partners, and participating in the project.

The Ontario trusted account will allow patients to access several health-related services without having to log in and out every time.

The development of the account builds on the Niagara Health Navigator app, which connects patients to local health services.

The Ontario trusted account will be available to Niagara Health and Southlake Regional Health Centre patients through the hospital's respective Navigator apps.
